# Setup

This section contains the hardware connection of XBLink Duo.

XBLink Duo hardware connection mainly includes SIM, Antenna, Satellie device, XBCamera Mini, Flight Controller and Power up.&#x20;

## Step 1: Setup XBLink Duo&#x20;

### Setup Cellular Connection&#x20;

### 1. Insert SIM cards

The XBLink Duo utilizes two SIM cards for network redundancy.&#x20;

Use a SIM eject tool to remove the SIM tray located at the bottom of the device, insert your nano SIM cards into Slot 1 and Slot 2.

<div align="center"><figure><img src="https://752643261-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-M1Ot9F_Ob2Aboz1SKNK%2Fuploads%2FF8QUhROlbOxxllcWhxGN%2FDuoS01.png?alt=media&amp;token=533b9db9-33a7-42b2-9b66-6b09dd54e1a2" alt="" width="375"><figcaption><p>      SIM Card must be faced up</p></figcaption></figure></div>

&#x20;Then, push the tray back into the device securely.

{% hint style="info" %}
The SIM card is recessed into the enclosure and you might need a tool to push it into the socket. You can hear a **click** when the card is inserted.
{% endhint %}

### 2. Connect LTE Antennas

Attach the LTE antennas to the cellular antenna ports on the XBLink Duo to ensure a stable 4G connection.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note:** Be careful with the antenna ports. Remove or Install it in a **straight angle**.

&#x20;**We are not responsible if the antenna is damaged due to physical impact**&#x20;
{% endhint %}

{% endhint %}

### Setup Satellite Connection&#x20;

### 3. Connect to Satellite Device (Starlink)

For extreme environments where cellular networks are unavailable, XBLink Duo uses satellite as a backup link.

Connect the satellite ethernet cable to the SATCOM port on the XBLink Duo.

<figure><img src="https://752643261-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-M1Ot9F_Ob2Aboz1SKNK%2Fuploads%2FveEsPMbWXO89maEJ1AJa%2FsatcomDuo01.png?alt=media&amp;token=1226ada4-7a24-4db6-96d5-7cd1b8e1f0ad" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Then, connect the other end to your satellite device.

<figure><img src="https://752643261-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-M1Ot9F_Ob2Aboz1SKNK%2Fuploads%2FmYsta9HPHcfy4Bn2k3bm%2FsatcomDuo02.png?alt=media&amp;token=306ff76c-18fb-45a1-be2a-f2e780f80f9a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note:**&#x20;

* Be careful with the ethernet cable and port. Remove or Install it in a **straight angle**. **We are not responsible if the ethernet cable and port is damaged due to physical impact**
* If you test the device on the ground, make sure the satellite device is placed outdoors with a clear view of the sky to receive satellite signals. Poor weather conditions (heavy clouds, rain, storms, etc) may also affect internet connectivity.
  {% endhint %}

### Connect Drone Systems

### 4. Connect XBCam Mini

For USB Camera (like XBCam Mini): Connect to the Type-C port.

<figure><img src="https://752643261-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-M1Ot9F_Ob2Aboz1SKNK%2Fuploads%2Fukt8U0RycxSfz3hpGT7c%2FcamDuo02.png?alt=media&amp;token=530033f1-79b7-46e0-bd3e-d9876f07dccb" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** We currently support a variety of Cameras and Gimbals in [**here**](/xblink-duo/user-manual/advanced-configuration/cameras-and-gimbals.md)
{% endhint %}

### 5. Connect Flight Controller

You can use Telemetry 1 or 2 of Pixhawk for connection with XBLink Duo [COM1](/xblink-duo/user-manual/getting-started/interfaces.md#com1-j4)[/COM2](/xblink-duo/user-manual/getting-started/interfaces.md#com2)

<figure><img src="https://752643261-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-M1Ot9F_Ob2Aboz1SKNK%2Fuploads%2FRlldPQMMSudnejgefFHe%2FCopy%20of%20CAP%201%20(1).jpg?alt=media&amp;token=4d79060d-c9e2-4298-91d1-c3254137540f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Config baud rate of Pixhawk to 57600, SERIAL1\_BAUD (Default 57, it means 57600), SERIAL1\_PROTOCOL: 2 (MAVLink 2)
{% endhint %}

### 6. Power up

Connect the power cable to the PWR port.

<figure><img src="https://752643261-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-M1Ot9F_Ob2Aboz1SKNK%2Fuploads%2FnEONMEG23CceaVXRmtws%2FCopy%20of%20CAP%201.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=4822275d-298f-44e1-8d1e-072334cd5510" alt=""><figcaption><p>Power up XBLink Duo</p></figcaption></figure>

XBLink Duo supports 7-30V voltage input. We highly recommend 3-4S battery or 12V DC UBEC (minimum 3A) to power (6S battery is possible but make sure it's high quality and low discharge)

{% hint style="danger" %}
If you use low quality or high discharge 6S battery for drone, we are not responsible for damage.
{% endhint %}
